Delhi Public School, Ranchi marked its 37th Foundation Day on July 17 with a grand cultural presentation, ‘Kirti Dhwaj – Banner of Glory: A Celebration of Pride, Purpose and Power’, at Vivekananda Auditorium. Jharkhand MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Principal Dr Jaya Chauhan welcomed her with a sapling, shawl and commemorative mementoes. The celebrations began with a disciplined welcome by NCC cadets, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a soulful welcome song. Students then presented vibrant performances including ‘Roots in Rhythm’ and ‘Ganesh Vandana’, offering a captivating glimpse of India’s diverse artistic and cultural heritage.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Jaya Chauhan highlighted the school’s commitment to holistic education and the all-round development of its students. She spoke about the institution’s achievements in academics, competitive examinations, sports, cultural activities, innovation and co-curricular pursuits, crediting the collective efforts of students, teachers and parents for the school’s 37-year journey. She reaffirmed the institution’s vision of nurturing confident, compassionate and socially responsible individuals equipped with strong values and leadership qualities.

Kalpana Murmu Soren appreciated the students for their impressive cultural showcase and congratulated the DPS Ranchi fraternity on its journey of excellence. She praised the school’s emphasis on academic achievement along with ethical values, creativity, leadership and life skills. Encouraging the students to dream fearlessly and embrace lifelong learning, she urged them to grow into compassionate and responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society and nation-building.

The evening’s highlight was the dance-drama ‘Akathit Veeranganayen – Echoes of Silent Pillars’, which brought alive the courage, sacrifice and contributions of inspiring women including Mata Urmila, Ahilyabai Holkar, Savitribai Phule and Jhalkari Bai. The grand finale filled the auditorium with applause and enthusiasm. Head Boy Prince Jain and Head Girl Atulya Shrestha proposed the vote of thanks, followed by a group photograph that brought the celebrations to a memorable close, reflecting DPS Ranchi’s enduring legacy and continuing journey of excellence.
