CCL Celebrates Independence Day with Grandeur and Enthusiasm

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its headquarters and all operational areas across Jharkhand on August 15, 2026. CCL CMD Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh unfurled the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Kridangan, Gandhinagar, and inspected the parade by security personnel and students.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Singh extended Independence Day greetings and paid tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters. He highlighted CCL’s contribution to India’s energy security, Jharkhand’s industrial development and the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047. The company has recorded nearly 20% growth in coal production compared with the previous year and is progressing towards its annual production target.

Emphasising sustainable development, he highlighted CCL’s 32.3 MW installed solar capacity, plantation initiatives and environmental monitoring measures. CCL’s Surplus Mine Water Utilization programme is benefiting around 2.5 lakh people across nearly 140 villages.

Security personnel, CISF members and meritorious students were honoured. Students of DAV Gandhinagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Gyanodaya School presented patriotic cultural programmes. The event was also livestreamed on CCL’s official YouTube channel.
