A New Era of Mental Healthcare: RINPAS to Introduce World-Class Deep TMS Technology

A major advancement in mental healthcare is set to take shape at RINPAS with the installation of a state-of-the-art Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) machine through a joint initiative of Rotary Club Ranchi and CCL. Installed at a cost of crores of rupees, the advanced technology is expected to open new possibilities in the treatment of mental and behavioural health conditions. The facility will be officially inaugurated on June 17 by Jharkhand Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari, in the presence of special guest Suresh Kumar Baitha, Rotary Governor Namrata and senior officials from CCL.
Project Chairman and former Rotary President Gaurav Bagroy said the FDA-approved Deep TMS machine is based on modern, safe and non-invasive neuromodulation technology developed by BrainsWay. Using magnetic pulses, the technology stimulates targeted areas of the brain and is used in the management of certain mental health and behavioural conditions. Rotary Club President Amit Agarwal said the therapy is painless and non-invasive, with each session generally lasting around 20 to 30 minutes, allowing patients to resume their routine activities immediately afterwards.
Rotary Image Chairman Praveen Rajgarhia described the facility as a potential game changer for the mental healthcare landscape of Eastern India. According to experts, Deep TMS technology can be used in the treatment of conditions including depression and certain addiction-related disorders, depending on clinical assessment and approved indications. With the advanced facility becoming available at RINPAS, patients in the region could gain greater access to specialised mental healthcare without having to depend entirely on metropolitan cities for advanced treatment.
