INTER-UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2025–26

The East Zone Inter-University Football (Men’s) Championship 2025–26 concluded on a thrilling note, with Ranchi University scripting a historic victory and lifting the coveted title. The host team delivered a commanding performance throughout the Super League stage, securing 06 points and sealing the championship in style. In the decisive clash, Ranchi University edged past Adamas University with a nail-biting 1–0 win, sparking celebrations and marking a proud moment for university football.

The tournament showcased high-intensity encounters and impressive sporting spirit. A gripping match between the University of Calcutta and Burdwan University ended in a 1–1 draw, while Adamas University registered a 2–1 victory against the University of Calcutta in another competitive fixture. Ranchi University’s journey stood out for its discipline, cohesive strategy, and technical finesse on the field, which captivated spectators throughout the tournament. Burdwan University finished as runners-up with 05 points, followed by Adamas University in third place with 04 points, highlighting the fierce yet inspiring competition among the participating teams.

The closing ceremony was graced by Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari as the chief guest, who congratulated Ranchi University on their landmark triumph. Emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering both physical and mental well-being, he encouraged young people to make sports an integral part of their lives. The event also witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, Rajesh Thakur, and Labour Commissioner Avinash Krishna, adding a celebratory and prestigious finish to an unforgettable championship.
