Game On, Spirits High: Summer Camp Culminates in a Celebration of Fitness and Fun

The 10-day Summer Camp organized by Johar Sports Club at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Stadium concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony marked by athletic brilliance and youthful enthusiasm. The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, followed by impressive netball matches and yoga demonstrations by the participants. Throughout the camp, children were trained in netball, yoga, and trekking. A special plantation drive was organized on World Environment Day, and on the ninth day, the young participants were taken on a trekking expedition to foster their connection with nature. The camp’s overarching goal was to instill awareness among children about fitness and healthy living through sports and physical activities. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji emphasized the importance of a healthy body for a bright future, stating that both yoga and sports are essential for overall well-being. Ranchi University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha applauded the children’s engagement in Sohrai painting and also shared valuable insights about available scholarship schemes. Ward Councillor Sunil Yadav commended the children’s progress, expressing confidence that these young talents will one day lead the state and the nation. CCL CGM Rajkishore and NSIC-CSBM’s Kiran Maria Tiru pledged continued support to the club and its initiatives. Secretary of the Jharkhand Netball Association Bhupendra Nath Ram and President Rajendra Prasad reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing Johar Sports Club’s athletes. Yoga instructors Gayatri Kumari and Animesh Gop were honored with mementoes for their contributions. The ceremony was presided over by Suman Toppo, with lively stage coordination by Pankaj Toppo and a vote of thanks delivered by Pintu Kumar Das. The success of the event was made possible through the efforts of R.E.S.T. Foundation’s Pradeep Ravi and Rakesh Ravi, along with the dedication of the club’s coaches.
