A NEW CHAPTER IN LEARNING: AZIM PREMJI UNIVERSITY
ANNOUNCES ITS THIRD CAMPUS IN RANCHI

Ranchi is poised to step into the national spotlight of higher education as Azim Premji University unveils plans for its third campus in the city. Spearheaded by the Azim Premji Foundation, this ambitious initiative is set to strengthen socially engaged, high-quality education across Jharkhand and eastern India, with a clear vision of aligning academic excellence with regional aspirations and real-world impact.
Spread across nearly 150 acres in the scenic Itki region of Ranchi district, the upcoming campus promises a vibrant academic ecosystem designed for the future. State-of-the-art classrooms, advanced laboratories, expansive sports facilities, thoughtfully designed hostels and faculty residences will shape a dynamic learning environment. Adding to its long-term vision, the university has also proposed plans for a hospital and medical college, further expanding its commitment to holistic development. Vice-Chancellor-designate Zulfiqar Haider emphasised that the Ranchi campus will be deeply rooted in Jharkhand’s social and developmental landscape, drawing inspiration from the rich knowledge traditions of tribal and local communities.
The campus will offer a diverse academic portfolio, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate and continuing education programmes across education, development studies, economics, public health, climate change and sustainability. Beginning this academic session, MA Applied Economics and MA Development will lead the academic rollout, alongside postgraduate diplomas in Local Development, Early Childhood Education and Educational Assessment, and short-term certificate courses in public health and education. With a strong focus on knowledge creation, skill development and socially relevant research, the Ranchi campus is set to become a transformative hub for human development across Jharkhand and eastern India.
